13 Week Walk/Run Program - Week 4 - Day 1

Today's objective: Run 3 minutes. Walk 2 minutes. Do this 8 times.

Any time I've tried to run in the past, it was all I could do to survive. My heart would beat out of my chest, my breathing would be irregular, raspy and insufficient to keep my body going, in short, I was doing it wrong.

It's pretty obvious I've come a long way when I'm able to notice a hermit crab on the road, enjoy listening to the birds singing and to be able to appreciate the stars and the sunrise all while running. The funny part is, it's all come naturally by following the 13 week walk/run program because it builds so gradually.

This week is a recovery week. No increase in intensity this week. Even though I was still out for 48 minutes yesterday, the run was relatively easy compared to other weeks. Next week is another story, I'm trying to just trust that I will be able to do it since I've come this far. It sounds daunting though.
